What are your professional qualifications?

I am passionate about helping students succeed, so I prioritize ongoing professional development.  Here are some highlights.
  • I have 11 years of teaching and tutoring experience.  My extensive experience means that I can tailor instruction to your child's needs.
  • I completed the AP Summer Institute Training (AP US History) in 2019.  I have been through the College Board's official teacher training program, where I got the inside scoop on techniques and strategies for AP History exams.  I share all of this information with my students so they can get an edge.

How do I know what service is best for me?

This is a great question!  It's my goal to provide the highest quality service possible.  Therefore, I have two main offerings.  Here are the pros and cons of each option.

Skill Drills

These hour-long sessions focus on a specific skill tested on the AP US History or AP World History exam.  Currently, I offer skill drills for Multiple Choice Question and Long Essay Questions in both courses.  Skill drills use instructor-provided resources that we customized to meet needs.

This option is best for students who are struggling with a specific aspect of the AP coursework.  They are not a good fit for students who need assistance with learning the content, organization, or their homework.  I am unable to offer that support as part of a skill drill.

Skill drills cost $65.00 per session.

Private, Individualized Tutoring

These hour long sessions are completely bespoke.  During each session, we'll set a goal that is perfectly aligned with your student's needs during that sessions.  Private tutoring includes supporting executive function, study skills, homework completion, exam prep, and content review.

This option is best for students who would benefit from something customized to their needs.  This includes students who are challenged by multiple aspects of the course.  It is also a good fit for students who may need help developing stronger study or executive function skills.  It is also a great fit for families who value flexibility and customization.

Private tutoring costs $85.00 per session.

What's included in tutoring?

When you take lessons with me, you get access to all of the following:

  • Advice tailored to your specific situation.
  • A recording of every session, if desired.
  • Extra resources to support your child's growth.
  • A newsletter packed with tips and strategies.

Where are lessons?

I offer personalized tutoring online.  I use Zoom for all of my sessions.  There are a number of advantages to online tutoring.

  • Convenience.  No need to leave your house if the weather is bad or traffic is awful.  This allows you to make the best use of your time and save money.
  • Flexibility.  When meeting online, I have access to all of my resources at a moment's notice.  This makes it easier to pivot and target specific areas of need.
  • Availability.  Online tutoring allows me to offer a wider variety of time slots, and eliminates time spent commuting.  This makes it easier for us to find a time that works well for you.

Do You Require Long Term Commitments?

Nope!  You are free to start or stop tutoring at any time.  You may take as many lessons as you wish.  However, I do ask for 24 hour notice for any cancellations.  Cancellations after that point are subject to a fee.

Package options are available upon request.  Packages are valid for a limited period of time and subject to similar cancellation fees.

What are your terms and conditions?

Do you have experience helping neurodiverse students?

Yes!  All students are welcome! I have extensive training and experience working with students with 504 plans, IEPs, and diverse learning needs.  I have formal training in accessible learning design and educational psychology.  I have seen first-hand how additional support can help students thrive in their AP class.

What Times Are Available?

I currently tutor Sunday through Thursday.  My earliest availability is at 1:00 PM Eastern/10:00 AM Pacific.  My last spot is at 9:10 PM Eastern/6:10 PM Pacific.
